Inpatient Coder - Georgia Licensed

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coder 3.

Key Responsibilities

• Codes and abstracts medical records with a minimum of 95% accuracy, assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS/CPT-4 HCPCS codes
• Manages additional coding responsibilities, ensuring timely resolution of coding edits and completion of assigned work by goal dates
• Serves as a mentor to new coders and assists with various coding tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications

• High School Education or GED required, along with completed anatomy and physiology courses
• Minimum 3 years of acute care inpatient and/or IVR coding experience
• Demonstrated maintenance of a 95% or higher accuracy in coding and DRG assignment
• Ability to work in a remote environment and experience with computer/data entry
• Preferred certifications include Cert Coding Specialist, Cert Professional Coder, and Reg Health Information Tech
