Inpatient Coder II

Job Summary

Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Inpatient Coder II will code all inpatient accounts, including ICD-10 diagnoses and PCS procedures, while ensuring accuracy and adherence to coding guidelines.

Key responsibilities:

• Code all diagnoses and procedures by assigning and verifying the proper ICD-10-CM and PCS codes based on medical record reviews
• Review coding for accuracy and completeness prior to submission, utilizing standard coding guidelines and CCI edits
• Maintain productivity statistics and participate in monthly coding meetings to suggest operational improvements

Required qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Two years of hospital coding experience
• Completion of an AHIMA or AACP-certified Coding program or equivalent, including relevant coursework
• Experience with PCS codes is preferred
• Coursework in Pharmacology and Pathophysiology is required
