Inpatient Coder IV

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder IV, Inpatient (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze physician/provider documentation in Inpatient health records to assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes
• Utilize encoder software to ensure accurate coding and compliance with hospital reimbursement standards
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve billing, claims, and documentation issues impacting reimbursement

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an AHIMA-approved coding program or Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required
• Three years of current acute care or Inpatient coding experience
• Proficiency in identifying POA, SOI, ROM indicators, HACs, and PSIs
• Current experience with encoding/grouping software and Computer Assisted Coding (CAC) preferred
