Inpatient Coder IV

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coder IV, Inpatient (Remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze physician/provider documentation in Inpatient health records to determine diagnoses and procedures
• Utilize encoder software to assign appropriate coding for MS-DRGs, APR DRGs, and other indicators
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to resolve billing and coding issues affecting reimbursement

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an AHIMA-approved coding program or Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
• Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification required
• Three years of current acute care or Inpatient coding experience
• Proficiency in encoding/grouping software and Computer Assisted Coding (CAC) preferred
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, and coding regulations
