Inpatient Coder with AHIMA Certification

Job Summary

To support healthcare organizations, the full-time Inpatient Coder with AHIMA Certification will review clinical documentation to assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes for Facility Inpatient records while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Select and sequence ICD-10 CM and PCS codes for Acute Facility Inpatient records
• Review clinical records to ensure accurate MS-DRG assignments reflecting documented diagnoses and procedures
• Abstract clinical data to support diagnoses, procedures, and discharge dispositions while maintaining compliance with regulations

Required qualifications

• Active AHIMA credential (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, CCS) or AAPC credential (e.g., COC, CCS-P, CPC)
• Two years of recent hands-on coding experience with Acute Inpatient records
• Successful completion of pre-employment skills assessment
