Job Summary
Working from home in a full-time capacity, the Inpatient Coding Auditor will perform internal quality assessment reviews on coders to ensure compliance with coding guidelines, improve data integrity, and enhance the quality of physician documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Leads and performs quality reviews for inpatient and outpatient coding across multiple Health Information Management Service Centers
- Ensures adherence to coding guidelines and policies among coding staff
- Maintains productivity and accuracy standards while participating in special reviews or projects
Required qualifications
- High school diploma and/or GED preferred
- Undergraduate degree in Health Information Management (HIM) or Health Information Technology (HIT) preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of acute care inpatient/outpatient coding experience preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of coding auditing or monitoring experience strongly preferred
- Certification such as RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS preferred
