Job Summary
Ensuring accurate and compliant inpatient facility coding, the full-time Inpatient Coding Auditor - Kansas will conduct pre-bill and retrospective audits, provide targeted education, and maintain productivity standards while working remotely from designated states.
Key responsibilities
- Perform coding quality reviews and peer-to-peer auditor reviews for inpatient coding
- Communicate with teams to resolve issues related to account reviews and code/DRG validation
- Maintain coding knowledge by reviewing data quality standards, coding guidelines, and clinical resources
Required qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred for Level 3
- At least 1-5 years of experience in Inpatient Facility Coding Auditing or DRG Validation, depending on level
- Minimum of 5 years of inpatient facility coding experience required for Level 1 and 2
- Certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or CIC required
- HFMA CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire for Level 3
