Inpatient Coding Consultant

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Consultant.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and develop inpatient coding criteria and conduct audits to assess compliance with coding guidelines
• Identify areas for product improvement and collaborate with internal teams to enhance coding accuracy
• Prepare coding-related reports and engage with client partners to assess coding practices impacting product development

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or a related field with appropriate coding certification
• Certification: CCS and/or CIC required; CCDS and/or CCDS preferred
• 3-5+ years of inpatient coding experience required
• Experience in coding consulting and managing a second level review process preferred
• Ability to travel 15-20% of the time
