Inpatient Coding Coordinator
Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Inpatient Coding Coordinator will code diagnoses and procedures for inpatient accounts according to ICD-10-CM/PCS, assist with second-level coding reviews, and provide education to coders on correct coding practices.
Key responsibilities
- Performs second-level coder reviews on accounts returned from audits and coding editors
- Educates coders on correct coding based on second-level reviews and assists with coding inquiries
- Codes inpatient accounts as needed and monitors DNFC management goals alongside the coding manager
Required qualifications
- Associates Degree in Health Information Management
- RHIT or CCS certification
- 3-5 years of acute hospital coding experience
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Ability to analyze coding-related reports and take appropriate action
