Inpatient Coding Quality Coordinator

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coordinator of Inpatient Coding Quality and Education.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the flow of medical record coded information for billing and reimbursement
• Ensure the completeness, accuracy, quality, and timely submission of medical data and documentation
• Design and evaluate educational programs to improve documentation practices and serve as a resource for providers and coding staff

Required Qualifications

• Associates degree in Medical Record Sciences with certification as RHIT, RHIA, or CCS
• Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems
• Minimum of five years of inpatient coding experience, with preference for experience in a Level 1 trauma facility
