Inpatient Coding Quality Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Quality Specialist to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex retrospective analysis of medical record documentation to identify coding and billing errors
• Analyze audit findings to identify root causes of coding errors and prevent their recurrence
• Provide technical support and feedback training to internal coding staff regarding coding compliance and documentation

Required Qualifications and Education

• Recognized coding credential from AHIMA or AAPC; RHIA or RHIT may also be considered
• 5-7 years of experience coding and/or auditing in an acute care facility or clinic
• Experience with telecommuting and electronic medical records systems preferred
• Coding Certification (CPC or CCS) is preferred
• Ability to navigate various EMR environments and review hand-written charts
