Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Specialist, FT and Per Diem Available, Remote (PA, NJ Candidates).

Key Responsibilities

• Codes and abstracts diagnosis and procedure information from patient medical records according to coding conventions and guidelines
• Maintains a 95% data quality coding accuracy rate and meets daily productivity and turnaround times
• Participates in departmental meetings and education sessions while assisting in training of new personnel

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• AHIMA Certified: CCS, RHIA, or RHIT required
• Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated ICD-10-CM inpatient and/or outpatient coding experience
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and medical terminology is required
• Experience with EPIC health information systems and 3M encoding system preferred
• Candidates must obtain their AHIMA credential within three years of hire date to retain the position
