Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Specialist (Full Time) Days.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate diagnoses and procedure codes
• Adhere to the Standards of Ethical Coding and official coding guidelines
• Utilize ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding classification systems in an acute care or professional services setting

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• High school diploma required
• Prior coding experience in ICD-10-CM and HCPCS/CPT coding
• Certifications such as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CPC, or CIRCC to be completed within 6 months of employment
• Working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS coding systems
• Preferred A.S. or B.S. from an accredited Health Information program
