Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Specialist responsible for analyzing and auditing documentation for accurate coding assignment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and audit documentation to ensure compliance with coding requirements
• Collaborate with providers and clinical documentation staff to translate medical records accurately
• Assist with quality audits, denial management, and monitoring documentation patterns

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

• Associate or bachelor's degree in health information management or a related field with a coding certificate
• AHIMA or AAPC Certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient coding experience
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office
• Experience with ICD CM/PCS and familiarity with EPIC
