Inpatient Coding Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Coding Specialist, Remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Review inpatient medical records to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, regulations, and payer-specific requirements
• Collaborate with CDI, Quality, and Revenue Cycle teams to improve documentation and reimbursement outcomes

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Medical Billing and Coding preferred
• 5+ years of medical coding experience required
• In-depth knowledge of medical coding systems, including ICD-10/PCS
• Strong understanding of coding guidelines and industry best practices
• Ability to maintain established accuracy rates and daily coding quotas
