Inpatient Coding Supervisor

Job Summary

A company is looking for a HIM - Inpatient Coding Supervisor (remote).

Key Responsibilities

• Assist coders and documentation management staff by analyzing complex patient care cases and discussing correct code assignments
• Review medical records for patterns of coding errors and opportunities for coder education
• Serve as a technical expert/resource for coding standards and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications

• University Degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; relevant experience may substitute for formal education
• Current certification as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS
• Senior-level inpatient coding background, including coding of outpatient/inpatient charts
• Experience in data management and coder audit and education
• Must maintain certification throughout employment
