Inpatient Eligibility Specialist

Job Summary

Providing virtual support to uninsured and under-insured patients, the full-time Inpatient Eligibility Specialist will guide individuals through the Medicaid and Financial Assistance application process in a remote call center environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients in completing applications accurately and educate them on eligibility options and benefits
• Maintain accountability for timely follow-up and ensure accurate system documentation to support successful approvals
• Build rapport with patients through clear and compassionate communication while providing instructions on necessary documentation

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of experience in the healthcare industry, social work, or case management
• Understanding of Revenue Cycle functions including billing and benefit verifications
• Knowledge of health insurance requirements and medical terminology
• Experience with patient access and managed care/insurance knowledge
