Inpatient Facility Coder

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Facility Coder.

Key Responsibilities:

• Abstracts relevant clinical information from health records and assigns accurate codes
• Identifies principal and secondary diagnoses and assigns appropriate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes
• Ensures compliance with coding standards and meets productivity and quality standards

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Completion of a formal coding program
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), RHIA, RHIT, or other AHIMA/AAPC approved credential preferred
• Minimum of three years of acute care inpatient coding experience
• Working knowledge of ICD coding system, medical terminology, anatomy, and health record content
