Job Summary

A company is looking for an Inpatient Medical Coder II.

Key Responsibilities

• Assigns appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures based on physician documentation using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS
• Reviews medical records, abstracts data, and ensures accurate coding for billing and reimbursement
• Maintains productivity and accuracy standards while assisting in medical record documentation auditing

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Health Information, Medical Records, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 3 years of inpatient coding experience in a Level 1 Trauma, Teaching Facility
• Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or credentials such as RHIT or RHIA from AHIMA
• In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and coding conventions (ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT-4)
• Strong understanding of health records and computer systems
