Job Summary
Insurance Authorization Coordinator ensures that benefit information, authorization, and patient liability are obtained prior to clinical staff starting care, working full-time in a remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and document accurate benefit information and authorizations from various insurance companies
- Monitor and manage insurance-related tasks and eligibility verification in the EMR system
- Assist clinical staff and billing department with funding source issues and discrepancies
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or a combination of experience and business courses preferred
- Minimum of one year of experience in insurance verification, authorization, or medical billing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance requirements
- Familiarity with HomeCare Homebase preferred
