Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Insurance Authorization Coordinator will manage insurance verification and authorization processes remotely, ensuring accurate benefit information and authorizations are obtained prior to patient care.

Key responsibilities:
  • Obtain and validate detailed benefit information from various insurance companies using payer portals and other communication methods
  • Continuously monitor and manage task flow related to insurance issues, including eligibility verification and authorization processes
  • Collaborate with clinical staff and other departments to resolve funding source problems and ensure timely authorization for services
Required qualifications:
  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in insurance verification, authorization, or medical billing
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in the healthcare insurance field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party insurance requirements
  • Familiarity with Homecare Homebase is preferred
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed based on business demands
