Insurance Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing practice, the remote Accounts Receivable Insurance Specialist will validate insurance coverage, submit qualified accounts for billing, and conduct follow-ups on claims to ensure accurate processing.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct detailed reviews of accounts to ensure accuracy in insurance processing and billing history
• Validate insurance eligibility via phone and internet for specific charges and dates of service
• Resolve insurance-related issues by coordinating with carriers and patients regarding coverage limitations and denials

Required qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school, or equivalent experience
• 2-3 years of job-related experience in insurance follow-up processes
• Proficiency in reimbursement methodology and MS Office applications
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels
• High level of integrity and dependability with a results-oriented mindset
