Job Summary
To ensure timely collection of outstanding balances, the full-time Insurance Collection Specialist will manage assigned accounts remotely, utilizing A/R reports and payer guidelines while assisting in training new collection specialists.
Key responsibilities:
- Timely follow-up on assigned accounts to ensure effective collection of outstanding balances
- Utilize resources for claims resolution and manage denials through understanding of ICD-10, CPT-4, and modifiers
- Review medical documentation to support appeals and assist in training new collection specialists
Required qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Certified Coding Specialist program is desired
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in billing, collections, and appeals
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification applications
- Understanding of ICD-10, CPT-4, and associated modifiers
