Job Summary
To support a growing revenue cycle management team, the full-time remote Insurance Credit Specialist will review and analyze accounts and credit balance reports, resolve patient and insurance credit balance refunds, and communicate with insurance carriers for information gathering.
Key responsibilities
- Resolve both patient and insurance credit balance refunds while documenting requests and concerns received
- Research and resolve unapplied cash activity accounts and correct errors in insurance contractual adjustments
- Respond to insurance companies and patient requests for refunds in a timely manner, identifying recurring issues for management reporting
Required qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED) required; associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare administration preferred
- One year of experience in insurance billing/insurance follow-up for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers required
- Experience analyzing explanation of benefits (EOBs) from various insurance companies/payers
- Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding preferred
