Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Insurance Follow-Up Representative will manage insurance verification, submit claims, and follow up on pending claims while ensuring compliance with legal guidelines and maintaining accurate patient records.
Key responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance coverage and update benefit information in databases
- Submit claims to various private and government insurance companies and follow up on denials
- Contact insurance companies and patients to gather necessary information for appeal processing
Required qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- 2 or more years of experience in medical billing is required
- Experience working with both government and commercial payers is required
- Knowledge of insurance terminology and processes
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
