Insurance Follow Up Specialist

Job Summary

To support the billing department, the full-time remote Insurance Follow Up Specialist will review insurance denials, verify patient information, and manage outstanding accounts to ensure timely claims processing and maximum reimbursement.

Key responsibilities

• Review insurance denials and rejections to determine appropriate action steps for resolution
• Verify patient demographic information and insurance eligibility, updating as necessary for claims processing
• Analyze accounts for proper claims processing and communicate trends or issues to management

Required qualifications

• Minimum two to three years of experience in medical billing
• High School Diploma or GED
• Knowledge of physician billing processes, ICD-10, and CPT coding preferred
• Experience with GE patient management system is a plus
• Ability to establish good working relationships with internal and external customers
