Insurance Specialist

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Insurance Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify insurance coverage and benefit limitations, pre-authorize tests and procedures, and calculate fees for front end collection
• Follow up on accounts, contact insurance companies for eligibility and benefits, and resolve insurance coverage issues
• Document referrals/authorization numbers, communicate anticipated self-pay portions to patients, and appeal denials based on medical necessity

Required Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding, third party payors, and business math
• Minimum typing speed of 25 words per minute
• Experience with time of service collection procedures
• Familiarity with major payment provisions and regulations
