Insurance Specialist

Job Summary

To support the collections team in achieving cash collection goals, the full-time PFS Insurance Specialist I will assist with managing patient accounts, reviewing claims, and improving reimbursement rates in a remote capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with the collections team to meet productivity and quality standards while providing training and coaching
• Manage total patient accounts outstanding A/R, including credits and denials, to reduce aging buckets
• Correct errors and submit claims and appeals in accordance with payer guidelines

Required qualifications

• High school diploma with some college preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory or genetic billing preferred
• Knowledge of CPT codes, ICD 10 codes, and insurance plans
• Proficient in MS Excel and have excellent computer skills
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment
