Insurance Specialist

Job Summary

Providing expertise in insurance pre-certification and authorization, the temporary PRN Insurance Specialist will work remotely, managing insurance verification and maintaining positive relationships with patients and referring physicians as needed, approximately 30 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize and manage insurance administration tasks, including contacting patients and insurance companies for pre-certification and authorization
• Obtain and document necessary insurance information and approvals, ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines
• Assist with price quotes and support the front desk reception and scheduling area as needed

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year of healthcare experience with health insurance plans for pre-certification and authorization
• Prior experience with managed care and physician office scheduling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong computer skills and typing proficiency
