Job Summary
To support a dynamic healthcare environment, the remote Insurance Specialist will manage patient insurance verification, coordinate pre-certifications, and maintain accurate documentation while ensuring compliance with insurance guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Monitors patient work queues for verification needs and coordinates with relevant departments for pre-certification and insurance benefits
- Pre-registers patient cases by entering accurate information into the billing system and verifies insurance coverage and eligibility
- Documents all pertinent information and interactions in compliance with departmental standards and HIPAA guidelines
Required qualifications
- High School diploma
- 2 years of benefit verification/authorization experience or equivalent
- 1 year of customer service experience
- 2 years of clinical/medical precertification/authorization experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and desktop equipment
