Insurance Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing radiology team, the full-time Insurance Specialist will manage insurance pre-certification and authorization processes by contacting insurance companies and patients, while also maintaining positive relationships with referring physicians and patients in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize and manage workload to ensure timely contact with patients for insurance verification before exams
• Make outgoing calls to insurance companies for pre-certification and authorization, documenting all necessary information
• Provide backup support for front desk reception and scheduling as needed

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year of healthcare experience with health insurance plans for pre-certification and authorization
• Prior experience with managed care and physician office scheduling
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience using computer systems and typing skills
