Insurance Specialist - HB

Job Summary

To support the resolution of outstanding insurance balances on Hospital Billing (HB) patient accounts, the full-time Insurance Specialist - HB will utilize extensive Epic experience and analytical skills to manage assigned receivables, ensuring cash recovery goals are met while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Effectively manage assigned insurance receivables to meet business line expectations and productivity standards
• Perform timely follow-ups and account research to ensure no cash loss and compliance with defined SLAs
• Document actions taken and prepare appeals for payment to insurance companies when necessary

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in a healthcare receivables environment, primarily in Hospital Billing (HB)
• 4+ years of experience using Epic systems
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with patient accounting software and basic claim billing functions
• Current knowledge of federal and state regulations governing collections, including HIPAA and the Privacy Act
