Job Summary

A company is looking for an Insurance Verification Assistant to coordinate insurance verification and precertification processes for healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the insurance verification and precertification process for outpatient procedures and inpatient admissions
  • Verify benefits and obtain prior authorizations while contacting patients for additional demographic and insurance information
  • Inform patients of co-pays due as part of the authorization process
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in customer service or a healthcare environment
  • PC knowledge and experience with multiple databases and software applications
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner while interacting with healthcare professionals
  • Experience with medical terminology and payer requirements preferred
