Job Summary

A company is looking for an Insurance Verification Assistant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the insurance verification and precertification process for outpatient procedures and inpatient admissions
  • Understand and verify benefits for various healthcare services and obtain prior authorizations
  • Contact patients/families to gather additional demographic and insurance information as needed
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 months experience in customer service or a healthcare environment
  • Preferred: Associate degree and at least 1 year experience in a Patient Revenue role
  • Experience with medical terminology and payer requirements is preferred
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner while interacting with various stakeholders
