Job Summary
A company is looking for an Insurance Verification Assistant.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the insurance verification and precertification process for outpatient procedures and inpatient admissions
- Understand and verify benefits for various healthcare services and obtain prior authorizations
- Contact patients/families to gather additional demographic and insurance information as needed
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 months experience in customer service or a healthcare environment
- Preferred: Associate degree and at least 1 year experience in a Patient Revenue role
- Experience with medical terminology and payer requirements is preferred
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner while interacting with various stakeholders
