Job Summary
To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Insurance Verification Specialist will verify and obtain eligibility and benefits from insurance companies, maintain accurate records, and coordinate with regional staff while working remotely from designated states.
Key responsibilities
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits by communicating with insurance companies and regional offices
- Accurately enter and maintain patient information in the billing software and prepare daily activity reports
- Resolve billing and authorization issues while ensuring compliance with confidentiality regulations
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in eligibility and verification
- Comprehensive knowledge of third-party insurance processes
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and patient accounts systems
- Intermediate to expert computer skills, including proficiency in Windows programs and database applications
