Job Summary
To support efficient patient care, the full-time Insurance Verification Specialist will manage insurance verification, authorization processes, and financial orientations while ensuring compliance with healthcare guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance information and eligibility, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies
- Obtain necessary authorizations from insurance companies and enter relevant details into the patient accounting system
- Calculate patient financial responsibilities, including co-pays and co-insurance, and communicate financial policies effectively
Required qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong customer service experience required
- Previous healthcare insurance verification experience is required
- Familiarity with calculating co-insurance, co-pays, and out-of-pocket costs
- Previous experience obtaining pre-certification is preferred
