Insurance Verification Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare practice, the full-time Insurance Verification Specialist will verify patient insurance eligibility and coverage, contact insurance companies for accurate information, and ensure proper documentation in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, coverage, benefits, deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance
• Contact insurance companies to obtain accurate coverage information and confirm prior authorization requirements
• Maintain detailed documentation of verification activities and collaborate with scheduling, billing, coding, and clinical teams

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in insurance verification, medical billing, or healthcare administration
• Knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care plans
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical billing software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook
