Intake Specialist

Job Summary

To support healthcare operations, the remote contract Intake Specialist will manage incoming provider calls, convert information into electronic records, and facilitate prior authorizations while adhering to departmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incoming calls from providers, assisting with authorization details and updates
• Convert provider and member information into electronic records and verify eligibility and coverage
• Facilitate prior authorizations and communicate ineligible requests back to providers

Required qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of one (1) year of clinical, insurance, or related healthcare experience preferred
• Managed care experience preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office in a Windows environment
• Medical Terminology Certificate is preferred
