Intake Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing healthcare team, the full-time Intake Specialist will manage patient referrals, interface with external clients for authorization, and maintain accurate patient data in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain and document initial patient referral admission data and notify staff of pending referrals
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, including obtaining prior authorizations and coordinating reimbursable services
• Communicate with patients and healthcare professionals regarding eligibility requirements and policy benefits

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience with insurance companies and healthcare professionals preferred
• Experience in specialty pharmacy patient admissions and customer service in a referral-based setting strongly preferred
• IVIg case management experience preferred
• Strong PC skills, particularly with the MS Office suite; experience with pharmacy order processing systems is a major advantage
