Integration Developer

Job Summary

To support mission-critical healthcare scheduling services, the remote Integration Developer will build, implement, and maintain Java and Apache Kafka integrations, ensuring secure and scalable workflows for the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Java-based integration services and event-driven workflows for VA appointment scheduling
• Build and configure Apache Kafka producers and consumers to manage near-real-time appointment data across applications
• Develop secure RESTful APIs and Spring Boot microservices, integrating with various databases and ensuring optimal performance

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in backend software development or enterprise application integration
• Strong proficiency in Java and frameworks such as Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and developing data pipelines
• Experience in building RESTful APIs and microservices
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
