Intellectual Property Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Counsel, Intellectual Property.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead patent strategy and portfolio management, including identifying patentable inventions and supporting competitive analyses
• Guide inventors through the disclosure process and manage outside patent counsel for drafting and prosecution
• Contribute to patent education and serve as a primary contact for open-source license questions

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of intellectual property practice experience, including in-house counsel experience
• Substantial experience with patent drafting, prosecution, and portfolio management for software and/or AI-related inventions
• Working knowledge of open-source licensing and experience counseling engineering teams
• J.D. with active state bar admission or eligibility for in-house registration; USPTO registration is a plus
• Experience advising on AI or ML product implementations is a strong plus
