Job Summary
Supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) remotely, the full-time Internal Controls Analyst will provide audit and internal control support, conduct risk analyses, and prepare responses for financial management and programmatic activities.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct internal audits and develop a five-year internal audit plan based on financial audits and program reviews
- Evaluate internal controls and support annual management control reviews and OMB Circular A-123 audits
- Act as a liaison between auditors and program personnel while preparing Corrective Action Instruction packages to resolve discrepancies
Required qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for education
- In-depth understanding of OMB Circular A-123 and GAO Standards for Internal Control in the Federal Government
- Experience in financial statement audit tasks, including preparation and review
- Knowledge of governmental accounting principles and standards applicable to financial statement audits
