Internal Controls Analyst

Job Summary

Supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) remotely, the full-time Internal Controls Analyst will provide audit and internal control support, conduct risk analyses, and prepare responses for financial management and programmatic activities.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct internal audits and develop a five-year internal audit plan based on financial audits and program reviews
• Evaluate internal controls and support annual management control reviews and OMB Circular A-123 audits
• Act as a liaison between auditors and program personnel while preparing Corrective Action Instruction packages to resolve discrepancies

Required qualifications:

• U.S. citizenship is required
• Bachelor's Degree with 6 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for education
• In-depth understanding of OMB Circular A-123 and GAO Standards for Internal Control in the Federal Government
• Experience in financial statement audit tasks, including preparation and review
• Knowledge of governmental accounting principles and standards applicable to financial statement audits
