IT Infrastructure Technical Writer

Job Summary

To support IT documentation efforts, the remote contract IT Infrastructure Technical Writer will be responsible for mapping, drafting, and maintaining IT infrastructure and disaster recovery documentation while collaborating with various IT teams.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, draft, and edit technical documentation, including network/infrastructure architecture diagrams and business continuity recovery procedures
• Maintain and update documentation as new features and integrations are established or operational procedures change
• Participate in disaster recovery assessments to review and update IT systems recovery procedure documents

Required qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in technical writing within an enterprise IT environment
• Technical understanding of enterprise software, server platforms, and network infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience producing technical documentation based on subject-matter expertise in IT
• Ability to understand and discuss IT technical concepts, including operating systems and virtualization platforms
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Visio
