IT Program Manager

Job Summary

Leading a critical infrastructure modernization program, the full-time IT Program Manager will oversee a 6-month deployment strategy to replace legacy SONET multiplexers with Nokia SAR systems across multiple utility sites, ensuring compliance with public utility regulations and zero downtime for essential circuits while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Drive program governance by managing schedules, resource allocation, and risk mitigation related to site and circuit migrations
• Oversee the lifecycle of decommissioning SONET rings while maintaining active grid teleprotection circuits and ensuring migration designs support utility traffic
• Ensure compliance with NERC CIP standards and utility regulations throughout all network changes and deployment processes

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of IT/Telecom Program Management experience in a Regulated Public Utility environment
• Proven experience in leading legacy-to-next-gen migrations, specifically from SONET to IP/MPLS or Carrier Ethernet
• Solid understanding of utility-specific applications, including SCADA protocols and teleprotection
• Strong conceptual knowledge of Nokia SAR hardware and Nokia NSP
• PMP or PgMP certification and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a related field
