IT Security Analyst

Job Summary

Supporting the research community, the part-time IT Security Analyst 2 will manage information security matters, collaborate with IT groups to enhance security measures in line with NIST 800-171 standards, and develop training programs to promote security awareness, all in a remote/hybrid work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and implementation of the NIST readiness project to align with NIST frameworks
• Support the assessment and implementation of security controls in accordance with NIST standards, identifying gaps and recommending corrective actions
• Develop and deliver an awareness and training program aligned with NIST to educate the organization on security best practices

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum of three years of experience in information security, risk management, or compliance
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations, particularly NIST and HIPAA
• Experience with security audits, risk assessments, or vulnerability assessments
• Familiarity with security technologies such as encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
