Job Summary
Supporting the university's Cybersecurity Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) team, the full-time IT Security Analyst will assist in strengthening cybersecurity controls, preparing for security audits, and advancing compliance initiatives focused on NIST 800-171 and CMMC requirements in a hybrid work environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the execution of NIST readiness initiatives by conducting security assessments and implementing security controls aligned with NIST 800-171 standards
- Collaborate with various university departments to integrate cybersecurity practices into organizational risk management efforts and enhance security policies
- Develop and deliver security awareness and training programs to promote compliance and security knowledge across the organization
Required qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity governance, risk management, or compliance
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations, particularly NIST standards and HIPAA requirements
- Experience participating in security audits, risk assessments, or compliance reviews
- Understanding of security technologies, including encryption, firewalls, and SIEM platforms
