Java Backend Engineer

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Software Engineer (Java) for a 6-month contract-to-hire position.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, testing, and integration of backend applications and services
• Design and build high-performance APIs and event-driven services for enterprise products
• Participate in solution design discussions and contribute as a technical leader and mentor

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in backend development using Java with Spring Boot and Groovy
• Experience with event-driven architecture, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Strong SQL experience with relational databases like DB2 or SQL Server
• Experience in AWS-based cloud environments; familiarity with Azure is a plus
• Prior experience as a tech lead or solution lead, guiding technical decisions
