JCL Mainframe Migration Engineer
Job Summary
To support mainframe modernization projects, the remote JCL Mainframe Migration Engineer will analyze, transform, and migrate legacy JCL-based batch processes to modern platforms such as Azure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure performance stability and minimal disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze Control-M and/or Atomic schedules on the mainframe and perform maintenance and troubleshooting of JCL jobs
- Support the conversion of mainframe batch jobs (JCL) to PowerShell scripts for Azure and automate batch job configurations
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify technical expectations and document business requirements for batch jobs
Required Qualifications:
- Expertise in Mainframe JCL and job scheduling, particularly with Control-M
- Strong experience in PowerShell scripting and automation within Azure environments
- Familiarity with CICS, CA Ideal, and mainframe batch job concepts (JCL, GDG, PDS)
- Experience with migration projects from mainframe to cloud platforms
- Understanding of thread safety, locking mechanisms, and concurrency in scripting
