Job Summary
Reviewing and approving pole attachment applications, the full-time Joint Use Engineer will ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations while collaborating with internal teams and telecom providers in a remote environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review joint use applications for pole attachments and perform structural load analysis of utility poles
- Evaluate pole capacity and design necessary upgrades to accommodate new attachments
- Coordinate with internal departments and third-party attachers to ensure adherence to safety codes and regulations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2-5+ years of experience in utility distribution engineering, telecommunications, or joint use engineering
- Knowledge of overhead distribution systems and familiarity with NESC and OSHA regulations
- Experience with pole loading analysis software (e.g., O-Calc, SpidaCalc, Katapult, or similar)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
