Journeyman Security Controls Assessor

Job Summary

To support a critical federal contract, the remote Journeyman Security Controls Assessor will execute security control assessments, compliance verifications, and evaluations of organizational information systems while collaborating with the cybersecurity assurance team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct security control assessments using various methods to verify compliance with established frameworks
• Document testing results and present assessment findings to stakeholders, ensuring clarity in non-compliant areas
• Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and contribute to the development of enterprise information security policies and standards

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) or equivalent professional experience
• Security+ certification or higher
• 6-8 years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or IT auditing
• Hands-on experience performing security controls assessments of systems of moderate complexity
• U.S. citizenship with the ability to pass a background investigation and obtain DHS Suitability/Entry on Duty (EOD)
